A skincare set,
ready for the shelf
The HYDRA GLOW KIT box, from the first sketch to the file a print shop sends straight to the die: bilingual artwork, product simulations for the shop and a file built exactly on top of the supplier’s dieline.
Everything the law asks for, on a 71 by 117 millimetre panel
Cosmetics packaging is not just a design surface. It has to carry the full INCI list for two products, the directions for use in Romanian and English, the manufacturer details, the mandatory symbols, a barcode and a QR code. All of it without anything dropping below the size at which a shopper holding the box can still read it.
I started from a calm front panel, with three colour waves that lead the eye down towards the photographs of the two products. The rest of the surface works for information: the sides carry the product name set vertically and the volume, while the back gathers the mandatory texts into one column with a clear hierarchy. Type has a five point floor that nothing goes below; when space got tight, the spacing gave way, not the letters.
The print file is built directly on the dieline received from the supplier, not redrawn from it: all 54 contour segments match exactly. The 3 millimetre bleed only extends past edges that are cut, never across the creases between panels, where it would carry one panel’s colour onto its neighbour. Text is converted to curves and the gradients stayed vector, so the file opens the same way in any print software.
For the same brand I also designed the product labels, the packaging for the other ProGlow Cosmetics products and the range brochure, so everything reads as one family on the shelf: the same colour drops, the same heading hierarchy and the same information logic, whether it is a serum, a cream or a cleansing foam.
Everything, from idea
to launch
- Complete box design, all five faces and the flaps
- Bilingual Romanian and English artwork, with the mandatory texts
- Product labels for the serum and the cream, in the same visual family
- Packaging and materials for the rest of the ProGlow Cosmetics range
- Bifold range brochure, with the morning and evening routine
- Print file built on the dieline, with a 3 mm bleed
- Text converted to curves, with no dependency on fonts
- A clean version and one with the die contour, for checking
- Product simulations for presentation and the online shop
A look at the
project materials
Product and brochure simulations for presentation and online shop, then the flat artwork and the print file, with the die contour laid over the graphics.
