1. What cookies are

A cookie is a very small text file that a website saves in your browser. On your next visit the browser sends it back, and the site “remembers” something: the language you chose, that you dismissed a message, a login session. Cookies do not run programs and cannot read other files on your computer.

Alongside cookies, websites may use similar technologies such as the browser’s local storage. Everything written below applies to those as well.

2. How consent is asked for and withdrawn

On your first visit a banner appears with three options: Accept, Decline and Preferences. Until you choose, only strictly necessary cookies are loaded. Nothing related to analytics starts without your explicit consent.

You can change your choice at any time from the “Cookie settings” link in the footer of every page. Withdrawing consent is as easy as giving it.

3. Which cookies this site uses

3.1. Strictly necessary (cannot be disabled)

Without them the site does not work or cannot honour your choices. The legal basis is Article 4(5)(a) of Romanian Law no. 506/2004: these cookies do not require consent.

  • emblematic_consent — remembers what you chose in the banner, so you are not asked on every page. Duration: 6 months. Source: this site.
  • pll_language — remembers the language you prefer. Duration: 1 year. Source: this site.
  • _GRECAPTCHA — used by Google reCAPTCHA to tell humans apart from automated programs when you submit the form. Duration: about 6 months. Source: Google.
  • wordpress_test_cookie, wordpress_logged_in_…, wp-settings-… — session cookies for site administration. They are created only if you log in to the admin panel, so an ordinary visitor never sees them.

3.2. Analytics (only with your consent)

They help me see which pages are useful, where visitors come from and where they get stuck, so I can improve the site. The data is aggregated and does not tell me who you are. If you decline, the script is not loaded at all.

3.3. What I do not use

This site does not use advertising, retargeting or social network cookies, and it does not share data with data brokers.

4. Managing cookies in your browser

Independently of the banner on this site, you can delete or block cookies from your browser settings. Bear in mind that blocking them entirely can affect how many websites work, not just this one.

5. How this fits with the other documents

What happens to personal data, who sees it and what rights you have is set out in the Privacy policy. The general rules for using the site are in the Terms and conditions.

6. Changes

If I add or remove a tool that sets cookies, I update the list above and the date at the top of the page.
